1、 Overview: The SCM-200 double end face grinding machine is the main equipment required for the production of standard samples for mechanical testing of various non-metallic solids such as rocks, ores, and concrete. This machine works in conjunction with the core taking machine and stone cutting machine produced by our factory to process cubic or cylindrical test specimens with the appropriate precision you need. Widely used in colleges and universities, water conservancy and hydropower, geology and mineral resources, transportation, construction and other departments. The machine consists of a base, worktable, grinding power head, variable speed transmission system, electronic control device, and other parts. The whole machine is easy to operate, with automatic feeding and stable performance

3. Working principle

1. Mechanical part

Under the workbench, it drives the workbench to perform reciprocating motion

The one-to-one diamond grinding wheel of this machine is directly installed on two one-to-one special motor spindles, which are driven forward or backward by two horizontal workbenches respectively. It can be automatic or manual. When the handle is turned to the automatic position during automatic operation, the clutch will be engaged. When the worktable moves forward, it hits the pawl, which pushes the ratchet wheel to run with clearance. The ratchet wheel drives the screw to rotate through the clutch, thereby advancing the grinding head. When manual, simply turn the handle to the manual position. Each rotation of the screw is 0.04mm, and each rotation is 3mm

Before leaving the factory, the specimen fixture and two grinding discs on the workbench were carefully calibrated to confirm the perpendicularity and parallelism of the ground samples. Grind two parallel degrees each time. The cube sample with six faces only needs to be ground three times by this equipment

The control buttons of this machine are installed on both power heads for easy operation

Due to the use of water cooling, the splashing of water is severe in this machine. Therefore, the circuit control adopts 36V Anran voltage, and there will be no leakage phenomenon due to water during operation. Two travel switches installed under the workbench control the AC contactor to make the workbench move back and forth. The workbench only needs to press the workbench button

4. Installation and Debugging

Before installing and using the equipment, it is necessary to have a detailed understanding of the installation, adjustment, operation, and other related matters in the manual.

1、 The machine is installed on a casting foundation, and the ground needs to be flat and firm. The machine foot bolts should be fixed to avoid vibration during operation

2、 After installation, the anti rust coating of each part of the machine tool should be cleaned. After wiping it clean, lubricating oil should be added to each sliding surface and guide rail. Then, gently move the handwheel and grinding disc by hand to check if the rotation is normal

3、 Connect the tap water

4、 Check the circuit and various control components, and whether the fuse terminals are loose, disconnected, etc

5、 The equipment must be well grounded and checked for accuracy before the power can be connected

6、 Press the grinding head button and immediately press the stop button. Each grinding head should rotate in the direction of the calibration arrow. It is not allowed to operate in the opposite direction indicated by the arrow, as this may cause the grinding head to loosen and the nut to loosen, resulting in the grinding disc falling off and damaging the equipment

7、 Press the main power button, then press the worktable button. The worktable should move back and forth, with flexible commutation and smooth movement

8、 Pull the manual and automatic handles on the lower side of each grinding power head to check if they are flexible. Otherwise, add lubricating oil to the sliding parts and pull a few more times. The impact adjustment bolts on both sides of the workbench are used to adjust the feed rate of the grinding disc's automatic feed. The scale of the power head screw is 0.04mm per rotation, and the feed rate is adjusted according to the hardness and softness of the standard sample. The adjustment should not exceed three grids. At the time of leaving the factory, the grinding head's automatic feed is adjusted to one step per time (0.04mm)

9、 Turn on the water supply switch of the workbench fixture, and there should be cooling water sprayed out with sufficient flow

5. Operation steps:

1、 Clamp the good sample block, pay attention to symmetry on both sides, and tightly adhere to the fixture

2、 Pull out the two grinding heads until the sample block does not hit the grinding wheel when the worktable moves

3、 Install the protective cover and turn on the water source switch

4、 Press the main power button

5、 Press the grinding head buttons separately to rotate the grinding head in the direction indicated by the arrow. Otherwise, the main power supply will be switched in phase and reversal is not allowed

6、 Press the workbench button

7、 Manually feed the grinding head for grinding. If automatic is required, turn the handle to the automatic position and perform the grinding separately. After grinding, turn the handle to the manual position and repeat the grinding several times to confirm the smoothness of the sample

8、 After grinding, exit the grinding head

VI. Precautions

1. Each time the specimen is clamped, the fixture and sample surface should be washed clean, otherwise residual substances will reduce the grinding accuracy of the specimen.

2、 At any time during automatic grinding, manual feeding is not allowed, otherwise it may damage the specimen and equipment

3、 After the automatic grinding is completed, do not stop the grinding head first, otherwise it may cause scratches or fractures on the surface of the specimen

4、 During grinding, attention should be paid to observing whether the coolant flow is sufficient, as insufficient flow can accelerate the wear of the diamond grinding wheel

5、 Diamond grinding wheels should not be knocked or bumped, otherwise it will affect their service life. Before using the new grinding wheel, it needs to be opened with a regular corundum grinding wheel for sharpening

6、 If there is any abnormal noise during the grinding process, the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection

7、 Every time you work, lubricate the reciprocating worktable and grinding head guide rail parts

8、 At the end of the work, try to stop the workbench in the middle position. If it stops on one side, it will cause the pressure plate to press the travel switch for a long time, resulting in the failure of the travel switch

7. Maintenance 1. After use, the residual rock debris on the workbench should be cleaned, and water stains should be wiped off. The grinding head should also be wiped clean and oil should be added to the workbench. Lubricate the guide rails at both ends of the reciprocating worktable. When not in use for a long time, lubricate the power head screw and clutch assembly to prevent rusting

2、 The travel switch is a vulnerable component of electrical appliances, which may malfunction after long-term use. When other machinery is functioning normally, the worktable will not reciprocate. Therefore, it is necessary to check and replace the travel switch or related AC contactor
