LM-21 Asphalt Mixture Maximum Theoretical Density Meter

1、 The LM-21 maximum theoretical density meter for asphalt mixtures is suitable for measuring the theoretical relative density of asphalt mixtures using vacuum method. It is used for asphalt mixture mix design, road condition investigation, or pavement construction quality management to calculate void ratio, compaction degree, etc. The instrument is not suitable for asphalt mixtures with porous aggregates that have a water absorption rate greater than 3%

2. Instrument Structure:

It consists of a frame, a vacuum extractor for incoming goods, a vibrator, an air valve, a vacuum gauge, a vacuum container, and a control electrical device. Its structure is reasonable, easy to use, and can perform parallel tests on two samples simultaneously

5. Instructions for using the instrument:

1、 The method of using the instrument is to place the specified number of samples in the negative pressure container according to the test specifications, and then add water at 25 ℃ to completely immerse the mixture, but the amount of water should not be too much to avoid being sucked into the suction pump

2、 Place the negative pressure container into the positioning ring on the instrument platform, cover it with the lid, press the pressure rod, then close the vent valve and turn on the suction switch. When the negative pressure reaches 97.3kpa, turn off the suction switch and hold it for 15 minutes before turning on the vibration switch. There are two vibration modes to choose from: continuous vibration and intermittent vibration, which means vibrating for 1 minute and stopping for 2 minutes to cycle until there are no bubbles in the water
